The Erindale Alliance Church's ESL Class was started in the year 2000 by Joann and Wayne Brimner to help people whose English is not their first language, especially international students, visiting scholars and immigrants.

The regular class (September-April) teaches language and the Holy Bible, using a one-to-one interactive teaching method. The language part includes pronunciation (English vowel and consonant sounds), dialog, intonation, and grammar. The Holy Bible part includes Bible reading, Bible stories, Christianity, and Christian culture.

In summer time (June-August), the class format is slightly different. The contents are more focused on conversations, discussions, and presentations etc, based on Biblical materials.

All the teachers and helpers are native English speaking volunteers who are willing to help. Wonderful relationships have been built between students and helpers over the years. Beyond the regular class, there are many social activities organized to help students learn about Canadian culture and build friendships as well. Love has made the class a big family and is attracting more and more people to join. Students and helpers are both blessed.

The class is free and open to everyone. Join us now as either a helper or a student!
