Senior Pastor: Rev. Robin Haensel

My wife, Katherine, and I have been enjoying Erindale Alliance Church and the city of Saskatoon for the past several years. After we had served for 15 years in rural Saskatchewan we made the transition to an urban lifestyle in 2003. We have grown to love Saskatoon with its wonderful people and diverse settings. Our family grew up and branched out primarily during our time in those rural settings. We have a growing family with three adult, married children and two grandsons. We continue to enjoy spending time with our children and take great joy fulfilling the role of being grandparents!

I love being in the outdoors, particularly bow hunting, which provides the opportunity for quiet, and solitude as well as seeing many birds and animals in their natural surroundings in a relaxed way. Over the past several years I have been involved in the organization of the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. I believe this is a great way to support our political leaders, who more often than not hear criticism rather than encouragement.

My greatest desire in life is to help people understand how much God loves them and that He wants, more than anything else, to have a restored personal relationship with them. It gives me great pleasure to interact with a wide variety of people and discuss this purpose God has for them. Each one of us goes through our day faced with many decisions, some more important and urgent than others. One question that lurks in the back of many of our minds throughout the course of our life is: “Does my life really matter? What really is this life all about?” After struggling with that question for several years as a young adult I came upon the answer - God gives us purpose!

If you are looking for meaning, excitement or purpose in your life, Christ is the answer! If you are seeking to do something significant with your life, why not give Him a try. Contact any of our staff for more information. Come and visit us at 310 Perehudoff Crescent anytime to see how He can make an eternal difference in your life!

Pastor Emeritus: Rev. Ernest Regier

Ernest was born and raised in the Swift Current, SK area. Post-secondary training included Swift Current Bible Institute (Saskatchewan) and Grace Bible Institute (Omaha, Nebraska).

In 1958, Ernest was involved in planting a new church in Shaunavon, SK, and two years later married Helen Dahl. By 1965, they had three children and had built a new church. The next 13 years were spent in Prince Albert, SK, where again they started a new church and had two successive building programs.

In 1978, Ernest and Helen were asked to start a new church in Saskatoon's Lawson Heights. Having completed a new building, a new area on the east side of Saskatoon (Erindale) was opening up and so in 1986 another church planting and building program was begun.

In 1997, Ernest and Helen retired from full-time ministry. However, the new senior pastor at the time (Rev. John McGregor) asked them to join the ministry team on a part-time basis.

Any small measure of success can be attributed to helpful, sacrificing people, a very supportive wife, and the grace of God.

Pastor of Adult Ministries and Visitation: Joel Diamond

Joel was born and raised in Moose Jaw, SK. Post-secondary training included Briercrest Bible College (Caronport, Saskatchewan) and Briercrest Biblical Seminary (Caronport, Saskatchewan).

In 1996 Joel married his college sweetheart and they began ministry together in 1998, where Joel was involved as an Associate Pastor in Beaverton, ON. By 2003, they had moved on to Briercrest one more time for Joel to earn his masters degree. In 2005 they moved to Saskatoon, SK, and spent the next 4 years as Senior Pastor in a local church.

In 2010, Joel and Jeannette were led to change churches once again, and arrived here at Erindale Alliance Church to serve as Pastor of Adult Ministries and Visitation, where they currently serve the Lord by His grace.

Children's Ministry Coordinator - Erin Petty

I was born in Regina and came to know Jesus through my best friend in high school. Soon after, our family moved to Estevan, and I had the opportunity to meet new friends in a new high school. These soon to be best friends of mine encouraged me to get involved in the church we all were attending. Thus began my experiences in Children’s Ministry. Twenty years later, children of all ages still hold a part of my heart.

I met my husband at Canadian Bible College in 1993 and we welcomed our daughter into our lives in 2001. Since 2007, I share the care of my disabled brother with my mother, both of whom live with us. I enjoy reading (especially suspense novels), crafting, and volunteering at my daughter’s school on Thursday mornings and I manage to keep busy with our various activities.

I started as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator in the summer of 2007. I am often told that I have an abundance of energy, but I know it is God who provides it to me. The kids whom I interact with each week energize me. The smiles and laughter, jokes and stories that I get to hear from innocent little hearts encourages me to keep going. I desire for children to know Jesus, who loves them so very much. I feel it is important for kids today to know that children are important to God and that He has done many things through young lives. I am where I am today because a friend loved me enough to tell me about Jesus. My prayer is that I can help other children experience His love too!

Pastor of Youth and Young Adults: Josh Jacobs

Hi there! My name is Josh. My wife, Nicola, and I moved from Calgary, where we both attended Ambrose University College, to Saskatoon in July of 2011 so that I could take on my very first full-time ministry role as the Pastor of Youth and Young Adults at Erindale Alliance Church.

I am the oldest in a family of seven kids and lived on an acreage south-west of Edmonton until I moved to Calgary in 2005. I was home schooled from grades two through eleven and studied Youth Ministry at Ambrose. Since grade ten, I’ve worked as a carpenter, welder, metal fabricator, book store clerk, youth ministry intern, back-hoe operator, plumber, painter and fork-lift operator, (Thankfully, not all at once!) so if you have a project that you need help on, chances are I’ve got experience that relates to it somehow.

My main passions in life are student ministry, coffee and guitars. I will talk about any of these things at great length and in great detail. My hobbies include playing guitar, swimming, playing video games, listening to music and reading.

Above all else, I love Jesus and want more than anything to obey His call on my life. I believe that I have been called to the mission field of student ministry in order to make disciples and raise leaders through the power of the Holy Spirit so that they can go and do the same. It’s an honour and an exhilarating privilege to be able to serve at Erindale Alliance Church.
