BOOK REVIEWS: The Centurion’s Wife
The Hidden Flame
Book 1 & 2 in the Acts of Faith Series by Janette Oke & Davis Bunn
Have you ever wondered what it would have been like to live at the time when Christianity was born? In this book series, Davis Bunn and Jeannette Oke give us a glimpse into what life may have been like during that time.
Book One, The Centurion’s Wife, is a very personal story of a girl named Leah, who was compelled into a betrothal she never wanted. They are drawn by a faith they never expected.
The next book, The Hidden Flame, tells of life as the 1st century Christian community is growing. This novel is the story of a girl named Abigail, who faces persecution while living among religious leaders and Roman rulers, whose aim is to stamp out the fledgling church.
A bonus is that these 2 books are very interesting stories about life during the time when Christianity was in its infancy. Both are in large print and are found in the Library under “F – Bun”. Enjoy!
